Addison Siobhan

Here I am before getting hacked into... sidenote- the nurse anesthestist said we typically breathe only 20-some-odd percent oxygen. Thus, I got 100% for baby's well-being!

She came out ready to eat- tongue going like crazy then rooting around. Unfortunately I was stuck on the operating table so she had to wait until I was in the recovery room.

Our little friend, Hanna, with Addison! She and her mom, Trista were our first visitors. Happy Birthday to Trista and my new baby!

a few weeks ago...

Maya gets books and makes up songs on the piano (not always actually to the tune of a real song!). Since this is a book about Elmo going potty (well, mostly Elmo teaching baby David to go potty), that's what she sings about.

The last few days she has obsessed over a little stuffed lamb (she used to call it "little lamb"- obviously, from the videos, she likes "Mary had a Little Lamb!"), calling it her baby, giving it a bottle (originally an unopened bottle of mustard she pulled out of the cupboard!), cuddling it, etc... the cutest, smartest thing was asking for a towel for it and mumbling something basically about using it as a burp cloth- not in those words, of course, but about keeping it from getting dirty or catching drips or whatever. No idea where she learned that stuff! But soon enough she'll have her baby sister and be helping for real!

Seattle- mid June

Auntie Caiti Did flew into Portland then drove up to Seattle with Maya and I, where we met up with Nana! My dad's company credit card gets him free airtran flights, but airtran doesn't fly into Portland, so Seattle was the closest place for my mom to come! We had a girls' weekend!
 Space Needle

Some science and music museum (I forgot what it's called; it's right by the space needle) had an avatar exhibit that was pretty cool.

It also had an area where you could test out instruments. Maya is an great drummer. :)

Then another day we went to the aquarium.

Maya and I matched that day. You can't see, but I also have white Adidas with pink stripes. I found matching ones for Maya at a consignment sale and was soooo excited! :)

We also went to the zoo, but I forgot my camera at the hotel, so we had to get a disposable one. I still need to use up what's on it and get the pictures developed! I haven't developed film in eons! I will do it one of these days... likely after baby comes! :) [one more week! aahhh!]

Horse camp

Ramie had horse camp the end of June. Grandma Carol took her each day, and on the last day, Maya and I went to see her. She's quite good on a horse and I was so proud. :)

and now I begin to update...

Once upon a time in the beginning of June...
We had some burning to do, which I guess is illegal, so we had an impromptu dinner of hotdogs (because you can cook hotdogs, just not burn your yard debris for no reason) and such. It was great fun!

I wear highly attractive sunglasses in the backyard and I often slobber on my preggo belly.

June 11th Jared turned 36. He kept insisting he didn't need a cake or anything fancy (he didn't even get sung to at Red Robin!), but I got him a slice of chocolate cake at safeway a couple days later. He was kind enough to share with us!

Quick hello

For those that don't facebook stalk me or don't know the Barnette's (currently the first thing you'll see on their blog is a totally hot picture of me with my friend, Lisa. Well, you may notice a different picture, but it's hard to miss my hotness [and by hotness, I mean ick]), just had to show you this adorable picture of Maya. I absolutely love it.
12 days until "baby sister" comes out. It seems surreal. I've gotten used to this psychotic being inside me (she really is psycho- moves sooooo much! It hurts sometimes!). But I'm very excited to not be pregnant anymore. The restless legs is the worst part. Last night was terrible. My usual "cure" methods weren't working- stretched and "exercised" so much my calves are kinda sore today. Heartburn is getting worse, but knock on wood I haven't swelled too much. My wedding ring doesn't fit so well (don't wear it half the time when I go out lately), but my feet appear mostly normal size! And of course, I am quite excited to meet this little munchkin that's been hanging out inside me for the last 9-ish months! Maya talks quite frequently lately about her coming out of my belly. We'll see how she does when the time actually comes! :)
