Quick hello

For those that don't facebook stalk me or don't know the Barnette's (currently the first thing you'll see on their blog is a totally hot picture of me with my friend, Lisa. Well, you may notice a different picture, but it's hard to miss my hotness [and by hotness, I mean ick]), just had to show you this adorable picture of Maya. I absolutely love it.
12 days until "baby sister" comes out. It seems surreal. I've gotten used to this psychotic being inside me (she really is psycho- moves sooooo much! It hurts sometimes!). But I'm very excited to not be pregnant anymore. The restless legs is the worst part. Last night was terrible. My usual "cure" methods weren't working- stretched and "exercised" so much my calves are kinda sore today. Heartburn is getting worse, but knock on wood I haven't swelled too much. My wedding ring doesn't fit so well (don't wear it half the time when I go out lately), but my feet appear mostly normal size! And of course, I am quite excited to meet this little munchkin that's been hanging out inside me for the last 9-ish months! Maya talks quite frequently lately about her coming out of my belly. We'll see how she does when the time actually comes! :)

We're alive

Wow, I didn't realize it had been so long since I'd blogged! But, well, I'm tired and pregnant, and my alone time is only during Maya's nap and that is my time to chill and watch SVU on netflix. But now I'm done all 11 seasons and have to find something new to get into.... any suggestions? Jared and I are getting into Monk together, so it can't be that! Oh, and I don't really get alone time during the summer anyway because I have 2-3 extra kids around.

No gestational diabetes, thank heavens. We couldn't afford it. Carbs are cheap. I found the BEST potato soup recipe online recently. Here it is. I omitted the parsley (not a staple in my house), realized now I forgot the flour, and my measurements were probably way off (I ran out of chicken boullion cubes for one thing, and did a whole bag of potatoes- more than called for, and as much bacon as I felt like!). But yeah, it was YUM!

Another reason for lack of blogging- life has royally sucked at times. I wanted to blog at one point but it's probably a good thing I didn't because since this is public, it might have come back to bite me in the butt... it sufficeth to say there were false allegations put against me and it made me hate some people more than before and make life rough. But things have mostly blown over now and life goes on. Doesn't mean it didn't hurt. Doesn't mean I have forgiven those people. But again, life goes on. Ooblah dee, ooblah dah.

I'll hopefully know tomorrow evening-ish (appointment is at 4:30) if a date is set in stone for this baby to get hacked out of me. It'll probably either be August 12th or 15th. I'm aiming for the 12th because a) it's sooner, 2) Jared won't have to take days off work yet (my sister and mom will arrive the next day to help and Jared can stay with me over the weekend; he's off work Fridays anyway; he'll take time off after they leave), and D) the 15th is the birthday of a long lost friend of mine who I'd rather not have my baby share a birthday with. I say "lost"- she's NOT the same person she was way back when. If you knew, you'd understand.

And since it's funner to read with a picture to look at, here's Maya today with temporary tattoos on her cheeks (Ramie decorated herself last night so Maya wanted to, too- she also had them on her left arm and both legs. I shoulda tramp stamped her!).

Oh, and yes, that is the infant car seat in the background. It is clean and ready as of last night. All baby's clothes, blankets, etc, are washed. The crib has been up for weeks. It's time for her to get out!!!
